Reporting an error
If you find a factual error, a misattributed source, a broken citation, an outdated legal statement or a translation that changes the meaning of the original, please report it through the contact form, choosing Correction as the reason.
It helps to include the page or report, the passage concerned, what you believe is wrong, and, where possible, a primary source. Reports are read by the author. There is no form of correction request that is unwelcome, including ones that are inconvenient.
How corrections are handled
- Typographical and formatting fixes are made without a log entry.
- Substantive corrections, meaning any change to a fact, figure, source, date, attribution or conclusion, are made and then logged on this page with the date and a description of what changed.
- Corrections to a report also increment the report's revision date. Previously downloaded copies are not recalled, so the log is the record of what changed and when.
- Where a correction materially changes a conclusion, the change is described plainly rather than absorbed silently into a revised text.
Right of reply
If your organisation is named in this research and you believe the description is inaccurate, unfair or incomplete, you can send a response through the contact form, choosing Correction or Press enquiry.
Where a factual claim is shown to be wrong, it is corrected. Where the disagreement is one of interpretation rather than fact, the organisation's position can be published alongside the passage, in its own words and clearly attributed. Publishing a reply is not an admission that the original was wrong, and correcting an error is not conditional on agreeing with the wider analysis.
This initiative makes no findings of misconduct. Its assessments are research opinions formed from publicly available evidence, as set out in the methodology.
